His main style of teaching is Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. He is originally from Mysore, where he learned Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga from Sri. BNS Iyengar, direct disciple of T. Kirshnamacharya. He is a certified Meditation Trainer from Osho International Meditation Resort, Pune. ELLIE RUALES (Elizabeth Ruales)

Co-director of Abhijna School of yoga, Ellie Ruales, started her journey in 2001 at Omega Institute of Holistic Studies where she had her first contact with Yoga, Meditation and Ayurveda.
As she continued to work as an Industrial Engineer, she practiced yoga in her home country Colombia for over 12 years under the tradition of Bihar School and Iyengar before she decided to study in India. Her continous studies include the foundations of Therapeutic Yoga at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiran Foundation in Chennai, Ashtanga Yoga with Sharath Jois at the Pattabhi Jois Research Institute, in Mysore. She learned Yin Yoga under the Guidance of Biff Mitthoeffer. She is a versatile yoga teacher who holds a 200H ERYT and RPYT and trained in the Styles of Yoga Therapy, Hatha Yoga, Yin Yoga, Pre-natal Yoga as well as Yoga for Children at Abhijna School of Yoga. She is an Ayurvedic Therapist from Prajna Kuteera Ayurvedic Institute. She is also currently undergoing her 300 HR training under Mark Stephens guidance. She has trained for the last 3 years in Sound Therapy and Sound Healing under the guidance of her Teacher Francisco Lagos and now she conducts the activities of the Sound Healing Center at Abhijna School of Yoga. Her teachings in both english and spanish are true to the traditions of Hatha Yoga (Iyengar and Bihar's approach). Her understanding of yoga draws from over 13 years of practice with various teachers and students. She genuinely enjoys being with her students and generously shares her knowledge. GIUSI PEZZOTA

Giusi Pezzotta
Giusi is a powerful Yoga Philosophy, Ayurveda and Asana Methodology Teacher. She also conducts Yoga Nidra workshops and meditations at Abhijna School of Yoga. She has trained at Abhijna School of Yoga as a Yoga Teacher in Several Styles, (Ashtanga, Hatha and Yoga Therapy). She holds a Yoga Therapy certification from the same institution. After completing her training at Abhijna in 2016, she took part in a Yoga Therapy project for special needs children in Gokarna, India. She also trained with pioneering yoga nidra teachers Uma Dinsmore Tuli and Nirilipta Tuli. Giusi loves practicing and sharing yoga nidra and believes it is one of the most powerful techniques in accessing the deepest roots of mental, emotional and physical diseases. She holds a BSc in acupuncture and a Masters in Chinese Medicine from University of Westminster in London. For years she worked in some of London's most renowned clinics in oriental medicine. Her background includes working at hospital of Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine and volunteering as the local acupuncturist at the Thrangu Tibetan Buddhist monastery outside Kathmandu, treating a wide range of ailments for locals of all ages. She is also a massage therapist, who loves to treat people with many different ailments, through a more comprehensive, holistic model of health. She has taught multi style yoga at several yoga retreats in Thailand and Europe. Giusi is interested in finding ways of integrating the wisdom of ancient yoga philosophy texts into modern life. |
REBECCA ANNE ELLIS
PRANAYAMA, YOGIC ANATOMY & ASANA METHODOLOGY FOR YOGA THERAPY
Rebecca Anne Ellis
Beckie is a Pranayama and Yoga and Holistic Anatomy Teacher. She drives her knowledge from her studies of oriental medicine, eastern arts of Taiji Quan and Qi Gong, Yoga, Anatomy and Ayurveda. Rebecca’s passion for sharing her knowledge grew from a young age teaching as a swim instructor and lifeguard. She now transfers these skills into a therapeutic context. She is a Sound healer and Yoga Teacher who specializes in Ashtanga Vinyasa and Yoga Therapy from Abhijna School of yoga. She is fascinated by the benefits of all these holistic practices towards health and as tools in preventative medicine. She has worked within general practice and specializes in the fields of chronic pain, gynecology and infertility and palliative care. She teaches Senior Yoga in the UK. A Qualified Chinese Medicine and Acupuncturist who holds a BSc Degree from University of Westminster in London, and has been treating patients for over ten years in the UK, London and worldwide, including further studies in China and volunteer projects in Nepal, India and Asia. Her further studies include Tuina Massage, Bowen Technique and Yoga nidra, among others. She continues to live a life doing what she loves and loving what she does! |
VICTORIA LEADER
HATHA YOGA, VINYASA FLOW & ASHTANGA VINYASA
Victoria Leader is a Certified Yoga Teacher from Bristol City Yoga, UK (200Hr) and Abhijna School of Yoga, Kerala (500Hr).
She is trained in the style of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga and teaches both Primary and Intermediate Series, as well as Hatha Yoga and Vinyasa Flow. Victoria began teaching yoga in 2013, and has taught in England, India and Canada. She has a strong asana practice and is currently working with Reno Muenz of The Dharma Temple, Vancouver, continuing her study of yoga philosophy, kriyas and mantra meditation. Victoria loves spending time in nature and enjoys teaching yoga outside and on the beach. |
ELSA BURGOS
SCHOLARSHIP APPRENTICE
ELSA BURGOSComenzó a practicar yoga para fortalecer su flexibilidad y pronto descubrió que el yoga iba mucho más allá, le ayudó a corregir su postura, tener más paciencia, escuchar su cuerpo, centrar su atención, calmar su ímpetu e incluso a ver la vida desde otro prisma; el yoga no sólo traía salud al cuerpo, también a la mente y el espíritu.
Decidió ir más allá y completar su formación de yoga en Abhijna School of Yoga. Su espíritu curioso, amante del aprendizaje, el deporte, la naturaleza y el ser humano le ha llevado a recorrer diversos caminos en los que se inspira en su día a día como Arquitecto y profesora de artes marciales, yoga y acrobacias. Entusiasta del Ayurveda y la anatomía es practicante de Ashtanga Vinyasa y Kundalini, es además profesora de Yoga Terapia (título cursado en esta escuela). Le gusta ayudar, contribuir en la mejora de su entorno, compartir el conocimiento para un crecimiento en conjunto y crear conexiones entre diferentes conceptos y áreas. Elsa will be joining us this season as an apprentice. We give one scholarship per year to returning students to have the opportunity to learn and develop their path further. CONGRATULATIONS ELSA! |
